About LVGS

Lehigh Valley Guitar Show is the region’s home for players, collectors, builders, and dealers who are serious about music gear. Founded by someone who’s been on both sides of the table — as a promoter, an exhibitor, and a lifelong participant in the gear community — LVGS exists because this region never stopped needing it.

We’ve been doing this since 2014 in one form or another, and after a few years away, we’re back with a clearer vision and a bigger runway. Our Showcase events bring a curated, intimate buy-sell-trade experience to Lehigh and Berks counties several times a year, while the flagship Lehigh Valley Guitar Show is being built into the largest gear event in the region — the kind of show that draws players and dealers from across the Northeast.

New, used, vintage, custom. Guitars, basses, amps, effects, and everything in between. If it makes music or helps you make it better, it belongs here.

History

It all started in 2014 with the Guitar & Bass Expo in Wyomissing, PA. There was a real regional need for a show dedicated to custom music gear — guitars, basses, amps, effects, and more — alongside a strong selection of used and vintage instruments. Guitar & Bass Expo ran annually through 2017.

In 2016, the first Lehigh Valley Guitar Show took place in a small Allentown venue — more of a musician’s swap meet on steroids. By 2017, it had expanded into the Agri-Plex at the Allentown Fairgrounds with well over 100 exhibitors of new, used, custom, and vintage instruments and gear.

In 2018, Guitar & Bass Expo was sold to GuitarFest in Ohio. The agreement included a 500-mile non-compete for five years, with the understanding that GuitarFest would carry the torch. Through no real fault of their own — COVID and life’s many curveballs had other plans — they were never able to make it happen. They’re good people with a genuine love for music gear and the community around it. I know this firsthand — I attended the first GuitarFest as an exhibitor, representing a group of custom luthiers and Franklin Straps. It was a well-run show, and when the time came to sell Guitar & Bass Expo, they were the first call I made.

So here I am in 2026, eight years later, picking up where I left off. After talking with guitar player friends and a group of trusted exhibitors from past events, I’m relaunching under the Lehigh Valley Guitar Show name — and this time we’re building something bigger.

LVGS Summer/Fall Showcases
